Samia Kazi

Chief Operating Officer, Arabian Child

Samia is an alumna of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, for the Leading Change in Education Systems program. The Huffington Post has recently written an article about Samia, as one of the top Saudi Women that are reshaping early childhood education in the Middle East.  Samia Kazi has a master’s degree in early childhood policy leadership from the British University in Dubai, and is currently completing her doctoral degree in education policy and leadership. Samia is the COO of a leading early childhood organization in the Middle East. 

Dr. Soledad Valenzuela

Director of Quality Assurance Programs, Arabian Child

Dr. Soledad Valenzuela has extensive experience in the field of education as a teacher, trainer, school principal, and nursery operations manager. She has a Bachelor degree in Language Teaching, a Master’s Degree in educational administration and a Doctorate in Education from the British University in Dubai in partnership with Birmingham University, UK. At school level, Dr. Soledad has been involved in developing a standards-based curriculum frameworks and in implementing educational innovations with an emphasis on individualization, cognitive and affective variables to enhance children’s development and learning. At a larger scale, she has been involved in nation-wide education reform projects at central level (in Qatar) and at school level (in the UAE) in which the main approach has been to modernize education by introducing research-based best practices into the curriculum and teaching as well as into the school operation. Dr. Soledad is also knowledgably in standards-based curriculum models and the development of methodologies and teaching strategies. She is currently working as manager of research and development at Arabian Child.

Thomas Edelmann

Founder and Managing Director of RoadSafetyUAE.com

Thomas is the Founder and Managing Director of RoadSafetyUAE.com – a holistic platform aimed at increasing the awareness for road safety in the UAE, by leveraging the key stakeholders governmental entities, corporate supporters, the media and the individual traffic participants of the UAE.

Prior to the launch of RoadSafetyUAE.com in Q4/2013, Thomas worked initially for Tyrolia (skiing industry) in global product management in 1990/1991. Mid 1991 he started to work for Coca-Cola’s Central European Region and later for Coca-Cola Beverages in the fields of Trade Marketing, Key Account Group Management and Brand Group Management. In the year 2000, Thomas and his family moved to Dubai, UAE and worked until 2010 for MasterCard MENA and SAMEA as Head of Marketing, Head of Alliances & Acceptance and in Strategic Business Development. From 2011 to 2013 Thomas worked as GM for an IT training company specialized in Cisco and NetApp training.

Thomas is a marketer and communicator at heart and he has strong analytical capabilities, which he likes to transform into yielding initiatives by applying a big amount of creativity, entrepreneurship, dedication and by leveraging and inspiring the team around him.

Thomas won the prestigious MEAN GEMAS / Effie awards 2 times for projects with Virgin Megastore and the Hilton group, while working for MasterCard.

Thomas is the founder of the social networking group ‘Club Austria’ (2001) and a founding board member of the ‘Austrian Business Council for Dubai and the Northern Emirates’.

Andrew C. Wright

Art Psychotherapist PgD Art Psychotherapy (AThR), BA Hons, HCPC (UK ), BAAT, ATAS, HC4/NVQ

Andrew is a British trained and UK registered Art Therapist and clinical director of Art Therapy International Centre (ATIC) in  Dubai. Andrew was trained at Goldsmiths College London, has over 18 years of experience in the health sector. He has worked in London, Singapore and Dubai and provides art therapy and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. He also provides creative arts therapies training workshops for professionals and parents. ATIC is the first Art Therapy Centre in the UAE. Art Therapy is an approach that is practiced by Art Therapists who have completed a masters in Art Therapy.
